Fossil fuels such as coal and oil, major energy sources in Japan, are limited.
On the other hand, renewable energy sources using such as solor power, wind power and geothermal power are attacting attention not only because they are environmentally friendly but also they will not be exhausted.
As amount of power generation of renewable energy depends on the weather conditions, power companies strive to forecast the power generation accurately to realize the promotion of renewable energy utilization and the stable electricity supplement.
In this competition, participants are challenged to create a model that predicts the power generation of solar energy for the purpose of stable supplement and utilization of electricity by using data such as power generation of 3 power stations, weather forecast and AMeDAS.
As a new attempt, we have set up a visualization department in the competition.
We look forward to discovering those who are talented enough to develop and make use of AI technologies and educational effects brought by their outstanding solutions for the real-world problems.
①Predictive modeling department
The department task is to create a model that predicts the power generation at the solar power station, and informative explanatory variables.
・Please note that submitting a report is necessary for being eligible to receive a prize.
The department task is data visualization and storytelling.
Materials can be submitted in any format such as html, ppt, and pdf as long as they can be viewed without installing commercial softwares.
However, please include title, concept, data used, and message in your submission.

・Visualization of geographical environment and weather condition causing heatstroke and consideration of its precautionary measures
・Investigation of the appropriate condition for growing cabbage and the weather condition affecting its price
